Font of the Month: Halloween Bonus

A bonus Font of the Month, just in time for Halloween.

ALTOGETHER OOKY was created by Comicraft’s John Roshell for the the TV series The New Addams Family (1998-99).

Clean, well-defined lines make it quite readable for fonts of its type, and restrained curlicues and squiggle ornaments provide flair without being overbearing. A nice blend of styles, it is antique, without being too distressed, ornamented without being overly so, and gothic in feel without being too “gothic.”

Altogether Ooky comes in two options: Regular and Capitals, which has the curlicues and ornaments moved to the uppercase letters.

Font of the Month: October 2010

Duality™ Designed by Typodermic’s Ray Larabie in 2000, DUALITY™ is a rugged, stylish display font. Despite being available for a decade, it is not often seen which makes it a good option for those looking for a less formal serif font that “doesn’t look like everyone else.”

Crisp, heavy strokes and well-defined serifs provide impact and great readability, while slightly irregular lines and mildly asymmetric letters lend a fun, somewhat irreverent spirit. While it may not be an appropriate font for more formal or sedate occasions, it is nevertheless an excellent addition to your font catalogue.

The Duality font family includes three styles: Duality Regular, the slightly distressed Duality Steel and Duality Sand. All three styles include full character sets for Latin/English, Western and Central/Baltic European languages, and are available OpenType OTF, Windows/Mac TTF and Webfont formats.

‘Duality’ is a trademark of Typodermic.
